CHOOSE THE KEYBOARD MODEL WITH THE SAME HINGE UNDER THE KEYS

In most keyboards that look identical from the outside, different types of hinges are used under the keys.
For a key to fit, the hinge must be identical to the one in your keyboard.
To choose the correct model, remove the “A” key. Under this key there is always a medium-sized hinge that you can compare with the pictures.
The designations in the “keyboard model” column are our internal references and do not appear on your device.

*Sometimes more than one type of hinge is used in the same keyboard; some keys may even have metal hinges.

In what situations does replacing keys or hinges solve the problem:

• If the characters on your keys have worn off, simply replace them with ones in good condition.

• If you have lost one or more keys.

• If you want to change the layout of your keyboard to a different language.

• If your keys have been damaged by a cigarette burn or excessive heat from a hair dryer.

• If your pets chew or scratch the keyboard – Cats, dogs, or other pets may chew, scratch, or step on the keyboard, causing keycaps to become dislodged or damaged.

• If your children pull off keys – Young children often find keyboards fascinating and may remove keys out of curiosity or while playing.

• If a heavy object has fallen on your keyboard and broken some keys.

• If you have spilled liquid on the keyboard, weakening the key attachments and making them more likely to fall off.

• If you frequently type with excessive force, causing wear and tear that results in keys popping off.

• If you store or transport your keyboard improperly, putting pressure on the keys, which may cause them to detach.

• If you clean your keyboard too aggressively, accidentally dislodging or breaking the keycaps.

• If extreme temperature changes have weakened the plastic components, making them more prone to breaking or falling off.

• If you have removed a keycap for cleaning or repair and did not reattach it correctly, causing it to fall off during use.

• If you accidentally vacuum your keyboard – Using a powerful vacuum cleaner to remove dust can sometimes suck up keycaps, detaching them from the keyboard.

• If you drop your laptop or keyboard – Sudden impacts, even from small drops, can dislodge or break keys.

• If you use an external object to press keys – Pressing keys with a pen, stylus, or other sharp object can cause them to pop off or damage the hinge.

• If your keyboard is exposed to prolonged sunlight – UV rays can weaken the plastic, making keycaps more brittle and prone to breaking.

• If your keyboard experiences vibrations or shocks – Using a laptop or keyboard on an unstable surface (e.g., a moving vehicle) can cause keys to loosen over time.

• If your keyboard has manufacturing defects – Poor-quality keyboards may have weak key mechanisms that fail prematurely.

• If your keyboard is old and worn out – Years of use can naturally weaken key hinges, making them more prone to falling off.

• If you frequently swap keycaps – Regularly changing keycaps, especially on mechanical keyboards, can wear down the attachment points over time.

In what situations replacing keys or hinges does not solve the problem:

• If liquid has been spilled on the keyboard, causing multiple keys to stop working.

• If certain keys no longer respond – In this case, try cleaning the area beneath the key to ensure there is no debris blocking the electronic contact.

• If the metal hooks holding the hinge in the keyboard are broken.
