CHOOSE THE KEYBOARD MODEL WITH THE SAME HINGE UNDER THE KEYS

In many keyboards that look identical from the outside, different types of hinges are used beneath the keys.
For the replacement key to fit, the hinge must be identical to the one in your keyboard.
To select the correct model, compare the empty space on your keyboard with the photos below, or remove the “A” key – under it there is always a medium-sized hinge.
The designations in the “keyboard model” column are our internal references and do not appear on your device.

*In some keyboard models, more hinge types may be used than the three shown in the pictures; some keys may also have metal stabilizers.

In what situations does replacing keys or hinges solve the problem:

If the characters on your keys have worn off, simply replace them with ones in good condition.
If you have lost one or more keys.
If you want to change the layout of your keyboard to a different language.
If your keys have been damaged by a cigarette burn or excessive heat from a hair dryer.
If your pets chew or scratch the keyboard – cats, dogs, or other pets may chew, scratch, or step on the keyboard, causing keycaps to become dislodged or damaged.
If your children pull off keys – young children often find keyboards fascinating and may remove keys out of curiosity or while playing.
If a heavy object has fallen on your keyboard and broken some keys.
If you clean your keyboard too aggressively, accidentally dislodging or breaking the keycaps.
If your keyboard has manufacturing defects – poor-quality keyboards may have weak key mechanisms that fail prematurely.

In what situations replacing keys or hinges does not solve the problem:

If liquid has been spilled on the keyboard, causing multiple keys to stop working.
If certain keys no longer respond – in this case, try cleaning the area beneath the key to ensure there is no debris blocking the electronic contact.
If the metal hooks holding the hinge in the keyboard are broken.
